How it all started

Yoga Inspired Art by Angeles Moreno

To capture and (re)express the many universal, positive messages from this ancient philosophy, the canvases began to fill with the Spirit of Yoga

Namaste, my name is Angeles, I live my Yoga through Art, on and off the mat. Simplicity, vivid colors, and geometric compositions define my art along with influences from my graphic design work. Consistent yoga practice gave a more profound significance and a fresh inspiration to my artwork. Seeking a deeper understanding of the disciplines at the core yogic principles, in 2008 I completed the Yoga Teacher Training Program at the School of Yoga at Mount Madonna Institute and started teaching at the Downtown Yoga Shala where my Yoga Inspired Art is on permanent exhibition. In 2012, I completed the Bheemashakti Yoga Intensive with my dear Master and friend Jonathan Patriarca † at Ginseng Yoga and, in 2013 I started practicing Ashtanga Mysore style with Adarsh Williams. I completed the Primary Series Teacher Training with Tim Miller at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, CA and I am currently teaching at the Monterey Yoga Shala.

After I started painting Yoga Inspired Art, the artwork drew much interest and I received several requests for copies of the original paintings at an affordable price. I had to learn by the pure intention of hands-on-doing the new skills needed to reproduce and distribute my art. For 10 years, I have been working hard on manifesting it. I have found many challenges along the path, facing great disappointments and also many gratifications such as designing for the Yoga Alliance, the largest nonprofit association representing yoga teachers, schools and studios in the U.S, which in May 2013, launched a Logo Redesign Contest through 99designs.com, and my proposal was selected over 6,000 submissions from all over the world.

Thanks to the inspiration of many of your messages requesting my art to be available to the public again, I have managed to revamp, modernize and improve the Yoga-Art online store. The project is more alive than ever, and with your help, we are Giving Back since all sales partially benefit the Sri Rama Foundation, a nonprofit organization (501 C-3) that supports Sri Ram Ashram, an orphanage for 50 destitute and orphaned children, a school for 300 children, and a medical clinic in Haridwar, India.

Thanks for supporting my Yoga Inspired Art!
