The Flower of Life & The Five Platonic Solids
Angeles Moreno, 2011
Acrylic on canvas
36 x 48 inches
The Flower of Life, a symbol of Sacred Geometry, is composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry. It depicts the fundamental forms of space and time and contains basic information of all living things, representing the laws and proportions for everything that is manifested.
The depictions of the five Platonic Solids are found within the symbol of Metatron’s Cube, which derives from the Flower of Life pattern. The Platonic solids are geometrical forms which are said to act as a template from which all life springs: Tetrahedron, Cube, Octahedron, Dodecahedron and Icosahedron.
